Increasing Our Reach: PAT Expands to Rai Mai Pattana

At PAT, our mission is clear: to curb the breeding of stray animals and enhance their welfare. To work as effectively and efficiently as possible, we focus on specific project areas, engaging with local community members to identify stray animals in need of sterilisation and vaccination. Our goal is to achieve 80–90% sterilisation coverage before moving on to another area.

Building on the success of 2023 and 2024, we have now started working in a new area—Rai Mai Pattana—to positively impact the lives of stray and roaming dogs, as well as the wider community. Last week marked an exciting step forward in our mission. To kick off our work in the area, we conducted a 4-day mobile clinic in the heart of Rai Mai Pattana.

Throughout the four days, our mobile clinic operated on-site, with our dog catchers collaborating with the community to identify dogs in need of sterilisation and vaccination. With the support of a dedicated team of veterinarians, we sterilised and vaccinated numerous animals, significantly improving their welfare. We also provided treatment for dogs suffering from skin issues and other health problems.

This was a great opportunity to connect with the local community and spread the word that PAT is here to help for the foreseeable future. We were especially thrilled to have the DLD (Department of Livestock Development) join us for one of the days, enabling us to reach even more dogs.

Over these four days, the team sterilised and vaccinated 84 dogs, and we’re excited to continue expanding our work in the area. By engaging with more villages, we aim to curb the stray population and improve the lives of countless animals.

We are committed to creating a future where stray animals have the opportunity to live a healthier, happier life. None of this would be possible without our partner, Dogs Trust, and the kindness of our incredible supporters, volunteers, and the communities we serve.

Stay tuned for more updates, and join us in this important cause! Together, we can build a better future for all animals.
