The PAT clinic and WFFT join forces for a special event, sterilising and vaccinating local street and community dogs.
October 2024 Update
October 2024 was another busy month for People & Animals Thailand, as we work to improve the lives of street dogs and cats in Thailand.
Thanks to animal lovers like you and our partner Dogs Trust, hundreds of animals were helped in various ways. We hosted mobile clinics in two different locations, including a special CNVR event (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return) in collaboration with Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand. Read all about the event here.
277 animals were sterilised in October 2024 – a crucial step in reducing the local stray population, as well as increasing each animal’s quality of life. Spaying and neutering reduces the number of animals born on the streets. Unfortunately, many unwanted kittens and puppies face overwhelming challenges and often don’t survive past their first few weeks. By decreasing the number of births, we can reduce the suffering caused by starvation, disease, and road accidents.
Additionally, 382 vaccinations were administered – an important measure in preventing the spread of deadly diseases like rabies, which endangers both animals and humans.
Outreach – feeding, wounds, parasite treatment and more
In October, supplementary food was supplied to 40 vulnerable puppies and dogs, helping to safeguard their survival and protect them from hunger. We treated 28 dogs for ticks, fleas, mange, and other skin conditions that can cause great pain and discomfort. Furthermore, 459 animals received deworming or parasite treatments. We also addressed urgent medical needs for 4 dogs with wounds or other critical issues.
Your kindness makes a lasting impact for Thailand’s stray and roaming animals.
